About Us

Dr. Deana Bardetti has been teaching English as a Second language for over 20 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in TESL form Boston University and a Master’s Degree in Linguistics from Harvard University. Deana graduated from Lesley University with a PhD in Educational Studies in 2009. She has taught English to children, adolescents, and adults in Luxembourg, Greece, and Italy. Presently she is an ESL specialist in the Massachusetts Public School System and an assistant professor in the Language and Literacy Division at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Bardetti is also a provider of professional development for teachers of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse students.

Laura Shanahan (M.A., TESL) has been lucky enough to work with ESL students for more than 15 years. In that time, she has designed, developed, trained and taught ESL professionals as well as ESL/EFL students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Presently, she works with the Woburn Public Schools in Massachusetts. In addition, she is the founding director of Andover English offering private and semi-private ESL classes to individuals and businesses throughout the Boston area as well as orientation services for recent arrivals. She continues to provide consulting and educational services to businesses interested in exploring the needs of ESL learners.

Natasha Bochkov is a children’s book author and award winning graphic designer who is endlessly inventive and endlessly passionate in her mission: to educate children and organize valuable learning experiences for younger generations. She graduated summa cum laude with a Masters in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1991 and subsequently taught several classes as a professor at the secondary and post-secondary level. And to further expand her knowledge of art and design, she took courses in Graphic Design, Print Production and Children’s Book Illustration at the Massachusetts College of Art. Presently she runs Lingvaerium Books and works as the web designer and developer for the Belmont Public Schools in Massachusetts.
